Leather Seats

This is my first post, but am hoping that someone can help me here. I purchased a 2010 Fusion SEL two weeks ago with 16,000 miles on it replacing my Dodge.. it has black leather interior and when I purchased it, the leather was smooth as could be, however after driving it on vacation and approximately 2,000 miles, the driver and passenger seat both have creases on both the seat and back rest... is this normal "break in" or should I be concerned and talk to the dealer??? HELP!!!

I have always had creases in leather seats on my cars, but not cracks. I think creases are normal but I'm not there to look at yours. Since the car is still under warranty, get the dealer to check it. Remember to use a good leather cleaner/conditioner like Meguiar's to keep the leather looking good.

Thanks for the info.... I did use Meguiar's when I noticed the creases and just thought it was normal for the "break in" of the leather but noticed today that there are cracks in the backrest and the left bolster of the driver's seat. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow, would hope that since it is under warranty that they would do something about it..First time owning a Ford, so let's hope they want to keep a customer!!

If you don't mind, let us know what the dealer says. I have leather seats in mine as well. I did notice some creases and thought nothing of it, but if it cracks it would be good to know the dealers attitude towards fixing/replacing it.

Did you use Meguiar's leather cleaner/conditioner? Did you put anything else on the seats in the past? Does the car sit in the hot sun a lot?

The warranty would not cover it.... the vendor that repaired the cracks today said that the seats will continue to wear and recommended to get seat covers... wish I would have known this before I got one with leather!! They recommended either saddle soap or "Lezol" or something like that... sounds like a lot of opinions if you ask me!

I know it's not the same car, but my 04 F150 with the leather had creases, and my wife's 05 Mustang has creases. It's got 88k miles on it now, and still has them. IMHO it's natural for leather to crease. Not crack and blow apart, but to crease. I think he meant Lexol for the cleaner and conditioner.

I took my Fusion to the dealership regarding the "creases" in the leather seats.. photos were taken, and Ford responded by saying it was not an issue covered by any warranty program that they offer... so much for "bumper to bumper"... I sent an email to customer service, and received the same response... I started using Lexol to hopefully protect these areas from cracking, but looks like I will be investing in repairs in the future...

I started using Lexol to hopefully protect these areas from cracking, but looks like I will be investing in repairs in the future...

The leather seats in my 2010 Fusion look ok to me. I am not concerned about any creases. Or maybe I should be. I'm interested to see what your creaes look like. Do you have any photos that you can post?

This is normal for REAL LEATHER. If it didn't crease, it is PLEATHER. Keep it conditioned and out of the sun ( a killer for leather ) Creases are normal but shouldn't lead to cracking if you keep it conditioned. DON'T WIPE LEATHER DOWN WITH DAMP CLOTH!!!!! That will cause cracking in the sun.

It's normal have a 2007 and i have them to. No big deal.

Bumper to Bumper is a misnomer. No non-luxury brand automaker offers a true Bumper to Bumper warranty as things like brakes, light bulbs, wiper blades are not covered outside of the first year by anybody outside of a BMW, MB, Lexus, Audi etc, and even not all of them do it either.
