Why no manual?

I'd say there's about 0% chance of a manual hybrid. There's too much involved with the computer system to allow for a manual transmission. The CVT allows the engine to operate more efficiently by maintaining more of a constant RPM. A manual transmission would just take away from this and would no doubt have a lower mileage.

 

If you're looking for the kind of car that's fun to drive because it's a manual...you're looking at the wrong car completely.

I was just in your area (Saratoga) a couple days ago. Thursday in Corinth and friday in Balston Lake. Weather was perfect but the white stuff falling from the Cotton Wood Trees was killing me.

 

I see that gas is 10 to 20 cents less than in the Rochester.

Getting pretty tired of the cotton stuff around here.

 

As far as gas prices, that sucks. I know that my parents are paying 30-40 cents less than we're paying here.

You can't have a manual full hybrid. MG2 in essence is the transmission as it either generates or uses electric power to make the differential between the wheel and ICE RPMs. If you remove MG2 then you have a partial hybrid (just a battery and electric motor or boost the ICE or recover energy in braking). A full hybrid is quite a bit more.
