blower fan noise on inside of pass foot well

it sounds like a leaf is stuck in there. but i took the blower off and made sure that was not the problem. and even sprayed some Wd40 on the fan wheel.

 

well the noise is back and it might be a defect . has anyone ever had this and did they take it to the dealer to have warranty service?

Mine was out of warranty. I took it out and found lots of loose black stuff falling out of the motor. That got rid of most of the noise. That is definitely a covered item so if you're still in warranty they should replace it for you.

Hi louied. :D As akirby stated it is covered under Warranty, as long as your vehicle is still under the New Car Bumper to Bumper Warranty.

 

And just to save you some possible anxiety in the future: You can safely assume that the majority of things that go wrong with your car in the first 3 years/36,000 miles (4 years/50,000 for Lincoln) will be covered under Warranty. Essentially, any defects or problems in material and/or workmanship are Warranty items. So unless you, someone else or Mother Nature bent, scratched or broke it, it will usually be covered.

 

Knowing that makes new car ownership so much more pleasurable. :shift:

Hi Louied,

 

I just had the blower motor replaced on my 2010 on Monday. It was making a squeeking sound when on the lowest setting. Warranty covered it no problems.
