Sky14FFH Report post Posted March 24, 2018 (edited) Check engine came on today for no apparent reason. Had been out with it last night, driving smoothly. Used my Scangauge today to check the code. 0456. According to the database I have on an Excel document EECV Trouble CodesP0456 : "Very Small Leak Detected in Evaporative Emission Control System".Do the 2013+ Hybrid Fusions still use an EECV? Also, anything I can do myself about this? Two years ago I got a powertrain warning light come on and it disappeared in 3 days and never came back. Edit: Ok Ixquicked it. I hate these capless gas tanks. Once I got a light for saying my filler cover wasn't closed then it went away and never came back. If I do have to replace the purge control valve, does anyone know where it is? Edited March 24, 2018 by Sky14FFH
lkatze2 Report post Posted March 25, 2018 look at the back of the radiator fan motor, then directly across from the radiator fan motor about half way down the engine is the purge valve. It has two bolts, two hoses (one hose has a blue plastic clamp) and an electrical plug. It is just below and to the left of the throttle valve motor. lkatze2 Report post Posted March 25, 2018 it is mounted on the engine a little higher than the back of the radiator fan motor.
lkatze2 Report post Posted March 25, 2018 BTW, i would first clear the code and see if it comes back before you start changing parts. Might not come back just like the previous issues you had.
Sky14FFH Report post Posted March 28, 2018 Ok did the steps recommended (funnel, cleaning etc) in the video then reset it and it is gone. After a few miles Scangauge reports ready and no light. Awfully minor problem to be setting off something as serious as a CEL.
