camman68 Report post Posted February 21, 2018 2015 Energi goes into Sleep Mode after 36 hours. Ford says I need to pay dealer to update firmware. The modem has already been replaced once under warranty and again due to a recall. The my ford app is handy but I'm not sure if it's worth another 150 mile round trip, a couple hundred bucks in service charges, and a few hours sitting in a waiting room. Can someone tell me what all is controlled by this modem and what, if any, functionality I will lose other than the phone app? We had a prius for 5 years and never had these problems. On quite a few occasions, the car will not charge due to the "Value Charge" setup. However, Value Charge has always been turned off. Ford says this is a 3rd party issue so they can't help. Since the modem has been replaced and a full reset has been done on multiple occasions, no one knows how to fix this. It's very annoying that the car (or Ford Software) can't figure out how to make my car charge it's batteries when it's plugged in. service message #ssm 46661
Timewellspent Report post Posted February 21, 2018 They say you need a firmware update because of sleep mode? I thought the car would do this when your 12v battery was at the point of needing to be replaced. Or are they saying you need a firmware update because of the charging issues you are having? luckyleo Report post Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) My 2017 Ford Fusion Energi is at the dealership for the third time. 1st time was SSM46661. 2nd time was an update to the onboard modem firmware (1.4.4).I still had communication issues (MyFord Mobile), phone support said the firmware was still 1.4.3. Back to the dealer for a third time. I had a 10:30AM appointment to get a simple firmware update. That was yesterday. They say it is not a firmware update but a Sync update, but they say the Sync system is at the current level. They can't figure it out. At this point I just want my car back. WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER FOR A FIRMWARE UPDATE?TESLA sends there autonomous driving software over the air, but Ford can't give their customers a firmware update? MyFord Mobile suggested I try another dealership since the one I am using is not familiar with electric vehicles.I do like dealing with MyFord Mobile and now hate dealing with my Davenport Fl dealer, or should I say my previous dealer.
