Starting last week when i start my car, sometimes it goes into what i refer to as panic mode. Every dash indicator comes on, I get bombarded with messages telling me everything is failing and I can't drive.

If i turn off the car and restart it, sometimes it does it again, sometimes it starts fine.

I replaced the 12v about a year or or 18 months ago. If i look in the hole on the battery, I see green.

Has anyone else seen this happen?  When my 12v died previously, it presented differently. More like the car was possessed, lots of interior flashing lights. The car always unlocks, and the dash lights always start right up.

No codes thrown. I had the car in for service 2 months ago to get the front control arms replaced and replaced a fuel hose that had worn out

First easy thing to check is ensure both 12v battery terminals are good and tight.

Ok checked them, they are pretty secure, no wiggle.

I noticed though on my way home that when i started the car my hybrid battery was showing as full. but after i got home it was at 50%

Not sure if related

The hybrid tries to keep the HVB at 50% so there is room to store energy gained from regenerative braking.

So it happened again this morning. FIrst crank, goes into panic mode, Turn it off, wait a second and crank a 2nd time fine. I noticed this morning that the HVB was 50% (usually its full after this happens).

On my short 3 mile commute though, it got to 90% by the time i was done. That seems odd, I don't remember it ever charging that quickly

You say at first crank. It usually doesn't "crank" until you put it in D or R. Do the "panic" lights come on when you turn the car "on" or when the ICE tries to start? Write down all the lights next time. It's still possible it's the 12 vdc battery.

I see the panels light up and start showing the logo. Its as soon as i turn the key. Or sometimes if i jump in and turn it fast and go right into reverse, it will seem like it started and die. I'll get the battery tested.
