How far can you go on HvBattery only

Recommended Posts

Not as a contest, but in daily regular driving.

Got a 2013 Fusion Hybrid 15K (se, if it matters), and I can make it maybe about a mile driving like miss daisy before the engine kicks in. Usually it kicks in if I try to reach 25 mph with any reasonable amount of acceleration.

It always kicks of on the when going up to 50 mph, can use battery power to maintain speed tho.

Anyway wondering if this is normal, what other experienes are

A mile is about right. The car tries to keep the battery at 50% so there is room to store energy from regenerative braking.

I noticed that too. Bettery is usually between 25 and 75%. I never seen it at or near 100%, and was afraid I got a dud or something.

Cars a 2013 but just purchased it last week at 15k like new. Dont know what the previous owner was up to, fear the worst sometimes
