Touchy Brakes

I know that the FFH brakes are sensitive, but are they even more so when the weather is damp? It seems to me that the brakes are extremely sensitive in damp weather, especially at low speeds, I.e., reversing, parking lots, etc.

My 2010 has the best brakes I've ever had. Only at the very end of the first stop on a wet day do I sense any grabbing and it's very minor and does not repeat. I would never characterize the brakes as sensitive.

My '15 HyTi was that way and sad to say the '17 models are no different. Grabby brakes when damp/wet seems to be a Fusion Hybrid "feature".

Mine start out grabby on a wet morning, but the grabbiness quickly disappears.

Yes, but only at very slow speed. Tapping them at speeds above 20 mph or so doesn't seem to be troublesome. Coming to a stop at a traffic signal requires awareness. I normally slow to a stop unlike when driving my Saab.

This happens during the transition from regenerative to mechanical breaking. Putting the brakes on fairly hard at the first stop should eliminate it for that trip.

The computer has to guess at how much friction the brakes are going to provide as it does that transition. Since it doesn't know the brakes are wet, it will guess wrong. That's why they will feel touchy.
