HV battery doesn't support the engine

on the engage display screen , when i accelerate , most of the time i cant see that the HV battery support the engine , when the battery is half charged ,especially when am uphill  , is this is normal ??

Yes it's normal for the HVB to support hills if the computer thinks that will result in the most efficient increase in power. However, if you accelerate just a little slower, or let up a little on the uphill, the ICE can handle the hill and still be charging the HVB. Eco cruise try's to do this for you as well, if you have that.
