Babyjonboy22 Report post Posted March 25, 2017 Good morning Been having issues with my 12v battery it's been going into deep sleep mode a lot and not starting properly. After taking it the dealer and having it assets I was told that my little wet cell battery I had needed to be replaced. Any recommendations on AGM brands been looking at Bosch and Optima. secondly is there a video or something that is out there that shows the steps on how to removed the battery?? I am sure these questions have probably already been answered but just looking for a little assistance
murphy Report post Posted March 25, 2017 I have an Optima yellow top D35 in my 2013 Energi. I had to remove the battery tray and cut the end off of it to get the battery to fit. I never found an AGM small enough to fit in the space provided for the OEM battery. 1 MKZh_Wynn reacted to this
VonoreTn Report post Posted March 25, 2017 (edited) I added some water to the cells on mine, and got it to last to over 100K miles. The cost to have the dealer replace it is very reasonable. This battery has nothing to do with your high voltage batteries which will last a much longer time. Since this battery does not start the engine, there is no need to go overboard on specifications or capacity, just use the one that the dealer recommends. Babyjonboy22 Report post Posted March 25, 2017 Well I end up going with a optima redtop. Like most post I have seen I had to cut the tray to get the battery to fit properly. Just wish it was a better way to secure it because that small strap gives a little lead way, but it will be good unless I decide to flip my car on its top. I think when I moved from Georgia to Colorado it cause it to drain much faster.
