fusionhybridse Report post Posted October 3, 2016 Hi All, I could be a potential FFE owner. I know that Federal govt. offers tax credit for FFE (~$4k). I was looking to buy a FFH before, but after looking at the tax incentive, I am tempted to buy FFE. Is this tax credit already included in the price of the FFE or do we need to claim it when filing taxes ? If the tax credit is to be claimed later, then I would go for FFE as the both models would cost almost same after tax credit. Thanks.
fusionhybridse Report post Posted October 3, 2016 (edited) So Tax credit is something that you can claim while filing taxes. You would need to owe at least $4K in federal taxes for this to benefit you. Looks like I am going for FFE over FFH. With all the features I wanted, FFE is more cost efficient when I have tax credit. jeff_h Report post Posted October 4, 2016 There are benefits to each: FFE - If your commute is short where most of your trips would be in EV, this is a good move and the tax credit makes it more appealing. FFH - If your commute is longer where the HVB would be used up, this is a good move and the larger trunk makes it more appealing. Happy hunting for whichever works best for your needs. Waldo Report post Posted October 5, 2016 An FFE would have worked out well for me, but it can't fit my kid's stroller in the trunk, so I went with the FFH.
