I think there is speed that ACC won't work. If memory serves me it's below 30 mph.

I have had the ACC go inactive at 20.

Mine drops to inactive at 20 MPH, which seems to be the minimum speed it can be set to ... more on this later. The stopped traffic detect fail is what I was surprised at since it knew there was traffic ahead. <shrug>

 

Okay ... minimum ACC setting. There is a school zone only 1/2 mile from me and speed limit is 15 MPH. Soooo, I usually do that thru the zone but the ACC is on (not set). When I hit the Set+ button near the end of the zone, set speed is 20 MPH. Based on that I have the impression that 20 is minimum set speed and based on other observed behaviors it's most likely the "drop to inactive" speed as well.

You can't set ACC (or CC) until you reach 20 mph, but ACC will remain set if a car in front is detected and slows to under 20. As speed decreases, there is an audible chime at 12 mph, and the system disengages. If the car in front only causes your speed to drop to 13 mph, and then changes lanes, ACC will automatically accelerate until your car reaches your set speed of at least 20 mph. This is how my 2013 works.

I have no chime sounding at any speed drop ... even below12. I do agree that if the ACC detects slowing traffic it does stay engaged - even to braking - then speeds back up as needed. The '17 ACC is Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop/Go so if engaged, it will come to complete stop based on traffic ahead. Except when that traffic is already stopped, then all bets are off.

Sorry to derail your thread. I was commenting in response to the other owners of 2013 models above and forgot that this thread was actually about your 2017, which clearly functions differently in this regard, since it has Stop/Go capability (wish mine did!).

Actually it wasn't a hassle at all. Comparisons of what we each have is pretty interesting. And with all the gaming forums plus this place, I'm used to thread wandering all over! <chuckle>

Found a little glitch .... totally minor in nature IMO.

 

Rain Sensing Wipers vs Auto Headlights: It appears that with the rain-sensing option turned on for the wipers, headlights do not automatically come on (when in Auto setting) when the wipers are turned on into the intermittent position. I have to set the headlight switch to headlights manually ... and get the chime reminder when I exit the car. Turning off the rain-sense option DOES allow headlights to turn on automatically when they are on in the intermittent position.

 

I looked in the OM and found nothing advising of any conflict. Confirmation was to turn on the wipers with rain-sense on, headlights in auto. No headlight indication so switched wipers to low speed and the headlights immediately came on. When I set wipers back to intermittent, the headlights went out after the requisite delay. So, right now I am running with rain-sense turned off until I can talk with the dealer Thursday.
