Squeaky drivers seat

Recommended Posts

I have a 2015 FFH SE. My drivers seats makes an irritating squeaking sounds everytime I accelerate or hit the brakes ( basically move at all in my seat).

It doesn't seem to be anything metal. It sounds more like plastic, but it is hard to determine the exact cause.

Any help from someone else who has had a similar issue would be sooooooooo appreciated.

The only help I can offer is that my 2015 FFH SE (luxury package, leather) has no such sound. I suggest a trip to your dealer.

I had/have the same issue with my MKZ. I was going to take it to the dealership and complain about a $50,000 car with a squeaky drivers seat. Before I could take it in, I had to readjust the seat up and down and the seat back forward/aft. After the adjustments the squeak was gone. Hmmm. The next time it squeaked I did the same procedure. It fixed it again. I am guessing that over time, the seat gets used to its position and wants to be noticed. I dunno. Worked for me. :)

A lot of these cars are just poorly built in my opinion. I've had a 2013 and now 2014 fusion titanium and both of them were/are loaded with rattles and squeaks.

That's interesting, because my 2015 (one of the first ones) has no rattles or squeaks at 22,000 miles.

Maybe I just got two bad vehicles. It drives me insane how many rattles mine has. I have what sounds to be something metal that will buzz very loudly at random times somewhere around the passenger footwell area, buzzing in the passenger door and pillar area, dashboard buzzing, headliner buzzing around the top left of the drivers seat, center console buzzing that i can sometimes stop if I grab on to the area between the shifter and radio, and finally, some kind of loud rattle in the trunk that I can't figure out at all. It makes a car I like a lot, miserable. I guess this really isn't the right place to rant about this though. :drop:

Put your windows down and see if that pesky bee flies out ;)

40,000 on our 2014 SE and no squeaks or rattles. Yet our supposedly Japanese-perfect Camry has rattled since day one. You never know.

My 2013 FFH SE with 22,000 miles is as tight and quiet as the day I drove it out of the dealer's lot 30 months ago.

Do most of you drive on smooth country roads or are any of you in the city? I frequently drive in the city where bumps and potholes (although I haven't hit any potholes yet) are plentiful. I guess after going over this terrain enough everything just starts coming loose?

Just found this post via a search, and I am chiming in on this old post to say that my driver's seat does the same thing over time. It happens about every month or so now. I'm out of warranty. My solution is the same as SteveB_TX. I move the seat into every position's extreme most position (all the way up and then all the way down for example) on each switch. After that the sound goes away for a little while.

I'd love a real fix as well. It is comforting that I'm not the only one...

From that notice:

1. Does the customer complain of the seat track exhibiting lateral movement on sharp turns causing a clunk/thumptype feeling or noise?
(2). No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10A for normal diagnostics.
