Tanya Goris Report post Posted March 2, 2016 I recently purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, a little over 2 weeks ago so I'm still learning. I skimmed through the manual and read that the HVB gauge should be at the half way mark most of the time. I noticed about 4 days ago that the HVB gauge was and still is full (at or just below 'H'). Should I be concerned or is this normal? Appreciate any feedback.
murphy Report post Posted March 2, 2016 Do you remote start the car to warm it up? That can raise the charge level to full. The place where it maintains 50% is while driving on the highway. It does this so when regenerative braking activates there is room left in the battery to store the energy. It can always be fully charged by forcing the engine to run while in park. lolder Report post Posted March 2, 2016 Go back and read all the manuals thoroughly twice. While parked, operate all the controls. Become familiar with all the instrument panel menus. In the winter the ICE runs longer when you start up when you are calling for cabin heat. That will charge the HVB above the normal half point.
MrMikeL Report post Posted March 2, 2016 It's totally normal to see fluctuations. Keep driving it and you will get used to when its low, when it's high, nd when it's mid way full. Have fun!!
