jpohlman Report post Posted December 22, 2015 I guess I'm a relic.... I'm a techie that has a 128gb USB drive plugged into my USB port and I find that I tend to only listen to that on a longer drive so I enjoy the radio. And it has the advantage that I don't have to look at it when I'm driving like I would have to do with my OnePlus One if I use it for everything. My Xmas present to myself this year was to upgrade the MFT radio in my SE and buy the HD Radio ACM (you need one from a Titanium the part number end in CC to CL)and send it to Jason up at fordpimods.com to get the feature enabled in my APIM. ethermion Report post Posted December 22, 2015 When driving my wife's FFH, I tend to listen mostly news/traffic/weather channel on fm. It keeps me company as much as anything. Wife seems to be some fm, some Pandora, and a lot of audio books. If you have an audio system, the am/fm circuits are probably just a few more bucks, and I expect broadcast radio to be around in cars for a long time. My daily driver has no audio abilities, and can't say I miss it. I just talk to myself a bit more.
michaelstark Report post Posted November 30, 2019 I see your point, but not for the same reason. It became apparent to me a LONG time ago that music radio exists to advertise more than it does to play music. So there's about one music station in my area that I listen to sometimes, and that's WXRT Chicago 93.1. I listen to two talk stations, 720 WGN-AM, 820 WCPT-AM. And 90.1 FM on the weekends for the vintage radio program Those Were The Days. Otherwise, I listen to my own recordings.
