klatoo Report post Posted September 1, 2015 Apologies if this as been mentioned earlier but I scrolled through the various oil change posts and didn't see this mentioned. Changed the oil at 5600 miles a few weeks back and got my oil report back from Blackstone. While changing the oil I kept smelling gas, like I spilled some on my shirt at some point. After looking around I smelled the oil in the drain pan and it reeked of gasoline. The Blackstone report stated the fuel percentage in the oil sample was 2. It was 1.8 at the 20K checkup (did the change earlier since I had various metals in the last report). Apparently Blackstone has 2 as the limit for viscosity reasons. I asked if this was prevalent in all FFH oil reports and they said it is common, especially in Prius'. Anyone else smell like a gas station after an oil change? Concern that needs to be addressed to the wonder mechanics at Ford (not like they will give a rat's a**)?
hybridbear Report post Posted September 2, 2015 Over at the C-Max Hybrid Forum there is an owner who has had Blackstone analysis done on his C-Max at each oil change. You may want to compare your numbers to his. The username is fbov. You should be able to find it by pulling up his username & searching through his content.
