Strange Occurrence

Recommended Posts

Had a strange occurrence yesterday afternoon. My 2013 FFH SE was parked in the garage, and all of a sudden the horn began to honk and the lights started flashing. It stopped immediately when I pushed the button on the key fob. There were no animals or people in the garage, nothing was touching the car on any side, and the garage door was closed. It was weird. Anybody else have this happen?

Are you sure that you didn't accidentally push the button on the fob to start it? Where is the other fob? Spouse playing games?

That's what I thought, too. But both fobs were hanging on the hook in the kitchen, and the wife was watching TV in the living room. Gremlins.

Did you check if all the doors were closed correctly?

We have a problem with our Explorer that the driver side door closed switch doesn't work properly anymore. So what happens is that after some time the alarm starts going off because the car thinks the driver side door is open.

A faulty door switch could be an issue too.

There is an outstanding recall for defective door latches. Go into your ford owner account and see if you have any recalls. I'm still waiting for parts to be available to get mine fixed. The Ford recall code is 15S16 and was announced April 23, 2015.
