Stop Safely Now message on i-95

Recommended Posts

Hello all,
I bought a 2013 fusion hybrid back in May of this year. Last night I was driving on i-95 while commuting home from work and got a 'Stop Safely now' message and my car cut off. The part of the highway I was on only had about a 2ft shoulder but stayed calm and was able to restart the car after a complete stop. Luckily my kids werent with me. I was able to get home and call the dealer this morning and they told me I'd have to wait a week to get it in the shop. Is it okay to drive this thing for a whole week without a software/or etc.. repair? Not getting the warm feeling from this car as I had originally thought.

Totally freaked me out the first time I got that. Good news is that it always restarted. They've had a lot of problems with the throttle body. They finally replaced mine and I seem to be doing okay so far.

That happened to me when I had my '13 FFH and I was on 95 in Baltimore. The dealer reprogrammed the BCM and reprogrammed something else and replaced the restraints control module ( that had nothing to do with my problem). I started a thread...STOP Safely Now. There is some good info in that thread. The FFH is now gone....replaced with an Escape.
