I had the recall done about 3 weeks ago and see no difference at all. I'm still getting over 50MPG on each round-trip to and from work.  I didn't receive a notice in the mail but the service department called me on two different occasions to setup an appointment. This is the first time I've received a call like this unless the recall has been out for some time.

Thanks.  That is what I was hoping.  Did it reset any of you lifetime numbers?

I just received this notice yesterday.  I have three outstanding recalls plus once again my VHR has a problem with the restraints module (RCM).  I am waiting until the replacement door latches are available before I take the car in to have all four items handled in the same visit.  The emission recall is meaningless for me since I put less than 5000 miles a year on the car which makes the car exempt from emission inspections.

I also have 3 outstanding recalls and my VHR "Restraints and Driver Assistance" is showing Status: Uncertain as well.  Dealer said this relates to the RCM replacement needed.

Notice #: 14S21

RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

Notice #: 15S16

DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT

Notice #: 15E03

POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING

No immediate plans to get 15E03 repogrammed.  Will probably wait until either parts for the other 2 come in or oil change time.

From what I have noticed, it did not reset any of my lifetime numbers.

Has anyone had this done yet?  Just received the official notice in the mail yesterday.  I am in no hurry to get this done.  May wait till it needs to go in for something else.

If you have had it done, has anything changed performance wise, mileage wise, etc?

Don't do it! It ruined our Energi! See this thread.

Thanks.  That is what I was hoping.  Did it reset any of you lifetime numbers?

Any PCM reprogramming will reset the Lifetime Regen Miles & Brake Score.

No parts are available for 15S21 (door latch recall). We had the other 3 outstanding recalls completed when bringing the car in for the dead 12V battery. I told the dealership I would prefer if they didn't do the recalls, but they said that since the car was there they are obligated to do the recalls.

And what happens for this PCM recall if your car doesn't fail the emissions test before they do

the recall?  Do you have to have it done, or just keep my mouth shut.  Car is running just

fine.

Also, I see to the 3-4 recalls shown for me on Ford's site, a couple were done (RCM) and

they told me they did treat the steering bold for anti-corrosion, but not replace it.  A preventative

measure that they just did without my asking (this makes sense to me).

So the recalls show 4 recalls pending even though 2 of them were done (ie, no indication of completed

recalls from the website).

Great question, smr2112.

I recommend reaching out to your dealer for specifications on the emissions testing, as well as the other recalls. Keep me in the loop with what you find out.

I picked up my 2013 FFH SE from the dealer's service department yesterday.  They took care of Recalls 15E03, 14S21, and 15R01.  The 15E03 erased the lifetime Regen Miles counter, but left the lifetime brake score intact.

Odd how one car has certain parameters erased and another doesn't after this 15E03 reprogramming.  I wonder why that happens?

Probably depends on whether the technician knows what he is doing or is trying various things until something works.

I found it interesting during the "turn on the DRLs" period when some places knew the procedure and others had no clue.

It does seem to follow that pattern.  There still appears be a very wide range in Dealership Technical expertise and training.

The human factor and Murphy's Law are still widespread, right Murphy?

There is a reason that my name on forums is Murphy.  I seem to never violate Murphy's Law.

A very long time ago I was integrating a new product line of disk drives into our computer systems.  The drives had 28 platters that were 3 feet in diameter and were driven by a 3 phase motor.  It seemed that every time the electricians hooked one up it would turn backwards, which was very bad if allowed to get up to speed.  I finally specified a 3 phase sensing relay to be installed in the drive during manufacturing so that if it was wired incorrectly the motor didn't turn at all.

How long ago was that?  A cellphone today has 10 times more storage than that huge disk system had.

Yes, I remember that you mentioned you use 'Murphy' for a reason. ;)

You guys had me concerned that I was wrong in saying that my two scores didn't reset after the recall. I just looked last night and mine still shows over 800 regen miles with a total miles of over 42,000. The brake score is hard to tell in my opinion. I started with 95% and still have 95% showing.

Edit - I mistakenly posted my 20,000 lifetime EV miles instead of my 800 lifetime regen miles.

No, you've been around here a long time and I didn't doubt you for a second.  :)

My first thought was that the difference was because Dealers don't upgrade their Ford laptops to the latest operating system.  Many of the Recalls, SSM's and TSB's state that a certain version of the Ford laptop's IDS software release is required for that repair to be done properly.

How many Tech's keep up with the IDS versions?
