FFH not always silent when starting

Hi,

We've had our 2013 hybrid for a few weeks. We were really surprised on how quiet it is when it is started. However, every so often, it is not silent. I don't mean when the gas engine is running. We hear something like a buzzing maybe. Not at every start though. If the gas engine is not running should their be any noise heard?

Brakes pre-charging. A/C compressor running up. Grill shutters cycling. Neighbors cat waking up! :)

It's probably the brake booster if it only buzzes for a couple seconds, or the AC compressor if it runs longer.

Since the engine doesn't run all of the time they can't use engine vacuum for brake assist. There is a separate electric operated pump to power the brakes. That is probably what you are hearing.
