New hybrid owner II

Hi everyone. My name is Tim and we'll be picking up our new (to us) car. It's a 2013 SE with navigation and phone thingies. It has 17,123 miles on it and it is really nice. Really nice.

It is a brand new experience. Our current car is a 1999 Acura 2.3 CL with 177,000 miles on it.

I hope to be able to contribute to the forum when I learn more about the car. Hopefully, my learning curve will go up with your help.

Welcome, and I think you'll be thoroughly impressed by the refinement of this much-later-model car. I know I was when I went from a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT (which I liked very much) to the FFH. Very comfortable, smooth, quiet (usually), good (not great) handling, enough power, and great gas mileage.

We now have our 2013 SE sitting in the driveway! Wow, it is awesome! I hope I hear from fellow owners. I've got to be careful though. Driving it home from the dealer I keep trying to get the MPG up to 50, and pushing buttons all over the place and looking at the screens etc. Cripe, I'v e got to pay better attention to my driving. This car is unbelievable.

One of the folks who have had hybrids longer than I posted in a thread somewhere this (paraphrased) advisory: sit in your car with it on, with the owners manual and try everything! I took that advice to heart, spent a couple hours of quality time and learned a lot! I strongly suggest you do it too as it's time well spent and pays off in that you're not distracted from driving.

I thought I chose to be notified when there are replies to my posts.

I don't think I did it right because I've found replies by looking for my topic and replies.

How can I be notified when new posts are submitted,?

I wondered the same thing, but didn't much worry about it as I have the Titanium package and that already has the doohickey and so I'm happy.

I was told it was a framistan! Huh. But I do like to "oh, wow!" pic of the car status as things change. Keeps me ohhh-ing and awww-ing for 5 minutes! :baby: :drool:

Found it for ya Tim. ;) Anyway, the latest edition of the navigation maps is A5. $150 from the official Ford navigation supplier, or for much less on Ebay, or so some of the guys and gals on here tell me. :)

Ah ha thanks for that. Anything that permits me to say call so and so and it does it - - - is definitely included in the phone thingie catagory. :worship:

Who makes the maps? Can POI be added via a flash drive like other gps systems?
