It was a rental car.  Should that concern me?  It's Ford certified and has 39k miles.  SE package in silver with a black leather interior.  I'm not wild about the dealership, but I think I'm getting a very good deal at right under $18k + TT.  They put two new Michelin's on it (the correct energy saver A/S) and did some other minor stuff (including reprogramming the engine/powertrain computer module)  I had to haggle with them to get the other two tires replaced.  I ended up getting them for $300 (not included in the purchase price).  Mr. Tire quoted me $432 for two tires mounted.

Anyone input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum!

As you must know, rental cars can receive more abuse than a single owner vehicle.

One thing in this cars favor is that it rates the CPO status and has a good Warranty.

Every Ford Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle comes with:
• 12-month/12,000 mile comprehensive limited warranty coverage*
• Seven-year/100,000 mile powertrain limited warranty coverage*
• A 172-point vehicle inspection.
• CARFAX ® Vehicle History Report

Did they give you the inspection sheet and what was done (besides tires) on the 172 point inspection?  What percentage of the brakes are left, battery, etc?

All the Recall and Customer Satisfaction repairs had to be done by the Dealer, you can find out about this by looking on ETIS, here, just follow the instructions.
