Tint Suggestion??

I have just purchased a ford fusion 2013 blue with light leather interior and don't know what tint to get. I live in Maryland and the limit is 35 here but alot of people tell me to get 20... It's 35 to light with my interior?? I'm going to PA for college so their tint laws shouldn't apply to me right?

 

Any advice!??

Where in MD are you? I can recommend Westminster Speed and Sound, if it's anywhere near you. Excellent workmanship. They did try to get me to go 20, but I just wanted 35. I went with their best after they ran a $100 off promotion last year -Geoshield DarkMatter.

Stay legal, and the right tint that blocks UV and heat is what you want. Darker tint does not mean better protection, in fact the darker windows can increase the heat build up inside since dark colors absorb heat from the sun. I posted some pics of my car after having legal tint applied, Its dark enough that it is noticed, but not dark enough to BE noticed. The car is cooler in the summer too.

 

Im not an expert on tint, I just had the dealer get someone to do it, they did a good job too, especially on the back window, which is a real bugger to get right. There are others here who do know what a good tint is and what to look for.

I watched someone get denied an inspection before they even started it yesterday because the guy knew it was too dark. She was at 20%. Why set yourself up to worry about an inspection or ticket? Just do 35

I'm running 3M™ Crystalline Automotive Film its excellent. Cost a lot and is not dark like inside of a cat, it reflects heat, and worked great while was in Florida. Beware that it is not cheap and needs to be installed by an approved shop and you get certificate of installation and all that good stuff.

I recommend staying legal. I got 32.5% and wished that I had stayed legal at 35% (the installer I went to didn't inform me all the options). 35% is a lot more classy. 20% looks cool, but also a bit "shady."

 

A number of people I know that got 20% in Maryland eventually got pulled over and had to get it removed. Granted it took 5+ years it got to them. I just don't think it's worth the hassle and expense down the road.
