Fuse box

wailer

A couple of people have asked how I wired the ambient lighting in the forward console. I started at the fuse box where I soldered one wire directly to a fuse that is only on when the car is cranked. It's a b*!t&h to get to! I can't believe Ford made the fuse box so hard to get to. You'll be on your back with your head under the driver side dash looking WAY up towards the top. Pull the fuse and solder directly to the top of the fuse and re-install. They are micro fuses, so a bit of a challenge, but doable. I hate these tiny, tiny fuses! The other wire went to a bolt somewhere under there as a ground.

just saw your pics...looks good...I'm trying to hard wire radar detector.....have a 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titanium....fuse panel location and micro fuses stink...

looks like no one makes a 'add a circuit' for micro fuses......did you actually solder to the 'top' of the fuse or to a 'blade' ??? thanks

Hi, I'm trying to find the fuses in my 2013. It is surrounded by a grey thing? I think I might have found it but I don't know if it needs to be detatched.

Look under the driver's side dash. You have to get on your back and look WAAAAAAY up near the top. I'm not sure why Ford felt compelled to put them in such a difficult place to reach. Also they are micro fuses that are difficult to handle and to find at automotive stores. The fuse box is grey, and it is NOT detachable.

Don't get me started at what it takes to replace a headlight bulb in these cars! You have to loosen the front bumper!!! Ford has gone out of their way to ensure their service departments stay busy!
